Friends of Stittsville Wetlands receives two-year funding from Ottawa Stewardship Council
The Friends of Stittsville Wetlands, a volunteer, community-based organization with the mission to “Protect, restore, regenerate, and rewild Stittsville’s Wetlands for future generations,” continues to build momentum in its second year as it receives a two-year grant from the Ottawa Stewardship Council.

Friends of Stittsville Wetlands receives funding from the Rotary Club of Ottawa-Stittsville on World Migratory Bird Day
In celebration of World Migratory Bird Day, overlooking the headwaters of Poole Creek along the TransCanada Trail, the Rotary Club of Ottawa-Stittsville presented a $1000 cheque to the Friends of Stittsville Wetlands (FoSW) in support of their ongoing work to protect, restore, regenerate, and rewild the Goulbourn Wetland Complex.

The Rotary Club of Ottawa-Stittsville will present a cheque to the Friends of Stittsville Wetlands (FoSW) on Saturday, October 12, 2024 – World Migratory Bird Day. This cheque presentation is being made to support the FoSW's work in protecting, restoring, regenerating, and rewilding our wetlands.

Ontario Nature has partnered with The Friends of Stittsville Wetlands, and together we are bringing to light the alarming extent of provincially significant wetlands “delisted” across the province due to the recent policy changes made by the provincial government.

Stittsville wetlands community group gets funding from Ottawa Stewardship Council
Friends of Stittsville Wetlands are thrilled to announce that they have received a major grant of $3500 from the Ottawa Stewardship Council (OSC). This funding will help the newly created not-for-profit organization build its capacity to protect a provincially significant wetland that is on the doorstep of Stittsville and threatened by continuing development pressures as well as policy changes by the Province of Ontario in late 2022.
